OilCo manages a 4.9% participating interest in the Hebron project.

The Hebron oil field, our province’s fourth offshore oil project, is located offshore Newfoundland and Labrador in the Jeanne d’Arc basin. It consists of the Hebron, West Ben Nevis and Ben Nevis fields.

The project is estimated to produce more than 700 million barrels of recoverable resources. At peak rates, the Hebron platform will be able to produce up to 150,000 barrels of oil per day, and has storage capacity of 1.2 million barrels of oil.

The Hebron platform produced first oil on November 27, 2017.

Hebron oil production totalled 51.7 million barrels in 2020, an increase of 26.9% or 10.9 million barrels compared to 2019. The project had an estimated 591 million barrels of recoverable reserves remaining at the end of 2020.

The Bull Arm Fabrication Site was used for project construction, including the gravity-based structure.
