September 13, 2017, St. John’s, NL – Petroleum Economist Awards 2017 has announced Nalcor Energy-Oil and Gas has been shortlisted in the annual awards category of Exploration Company of the Year.
The Petroleum Economist Awards is an annual event that aims to celebrate the people, companies and projects which epitomize the best of the energy industry. The scheme particularly seeks to identify and recognize examples of innovation and originality; sound business practice; and commitment to environmental protection and employee welfare. Specifically, the Exploration Company of the Year award recognizes a company that has demonstrated an enterprising attitude and pursued its business interests successfully, using innovative techniques or processes.
“Until recently, little was known about many of the frontier basins offshore Newfoundland and Labrador. Nalcor Energy, in partnership with the province, launched a multi-year Exploration Strategy founded in the collection of state-of-the-art geoscience data with the goal of finding and quantifying new oil and gas resource potential,” said Richard Wright, Manager of Exploration, Nalcor Energy-Oil and Gas. “To be acknowledged along with other global companies in this category is a great privilege and honour for our exploration team.”
The award winners will be announced on November 21 in London, England.
